The news and the social section on this "Happy Mondays" page inspired me to choose this layout for my band's home page. It is also consistent with other design layouts seen here. The Who's home page for example. This design although it has an advertisement on the top of it still focuses it social section (Twitter/Facebook) to the right hand side and allows the rest of the page to be taken up by news and in this case multimedia news; a video has been added displaying an interview with the band explaining there current tour plans. At a latter date I could do something similar. This would mean I take full advantage of the multimedia element of the web.
These two pages inspired me put an advert on my homepage. Both banners clearly advertise and album/LP release by the Kaiser Chiefs and Depeche Mode respectively. I only took inspiration from these pages as I thought the banner size on these pages was way too big so I restrained my design so that it looked appropriate.
